Monday August 27th to Monday September 3rd, 2012

7 nights , 6 days of relaxing, re-energising, doing yoga with Claire and enjoying the tastes, sights and delights of the beautiful and magical surroundings of the central highlands of Bali.

We make a point of using the word holiday! We bring you to an inspiring location, give you the company of a bunch of like minded people, provide you with 2 x 2 hour daily sessions of nourishing, rejuvenating yoga, and importantly give you plenty of free time to completely unwind and enjoy yourself...

" I arrived at the yoga retreat feeling frazzled & by the time I left my mind & body were tingling with energy & glowing with renewed clarity." Belinda

About our venue, Melati Cottages:

melati_room1"Melati" means jasmine. The resort is within easy walking distance of restaurants, museums, markets, temples, and about a 30 minute walk or short taxi ride to the famous Ubud Market. The delightful complex consists of several 2 storey structures all situated within lush gardens and rice paddies. Each room has it's own ensuite bathroom and balcony looking out over the gardens, ricefields and moats. The friendly staff of Melati are very welcoming, helpful and attentive to your every need.

The Wantilan, (the yoga hall), is a free standing bamboo structure nestled in the rice paddies and forest and is a very beautiful, open and expansive space to do our daily practise in.

About Claire:

Champagne_Claire_Stuart_Pau"I guess we all bring our war wounds with us and that affects every moment of each class... but Claire, you are such a skillful, soulful, kind and funny teacher that it is all good." Amanda

Claire has been teaching yoga for 15 years. Her teaching style is eclectic and quirky. She draws her inspiration from the traditions of Hatha Yoga, Oki-Do Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Shiatsu Massage and even her very first jazz ballet lesson as an 8 year old girl.

Her teaching style appeals to mature adults who are light hearted, open to new experiences, and dedicated to making their life as happy, healthy and real as possible. (If you like your yoga class to be quiet, reverential and following the Text Book of Yoga to the letter, then this is probably not the retreat for you!)

Claire brings her playful spirit right into the heart of her teaching and loves to help her students increase personal happiness through the joyful art of SunYoga. More about Claire

More comments from our 2011 SunYoga Holiday in Mission Beach, Queensland:

"Coming on this retreat has been one of the best presents I ever gave myself! Thanks to Claire, a wonderful group of yogis and a beautiful location. I've had one of the most relaxing, peaceful and refreshing holidays ever." Kathryn

"It is a very special time etched in your person. A bit difficult to even put into words... it feels a bit like a transformation to another part of yourself. It is FUN and energetic, relaxing and interesting, beautiful and quiet, full of different sounds and moods. It is a very special job you have Claire, to help to take us all to another part of ourselves. Thanks for a great week." Lea

"I find it hard to put in words the beautiful, blissful, joyous experience. The week has flowed peacefully along and I feel unwound and refreshed. The rainforest is so beautiful, the beach divine and healing, and what a privilege to see a Cassowary! Plus, my body feels a bit SPUNKY now! Love it." Caroline

“Once again I was transported to another world - the beauty that surrounded me calmed my soul and allowed the space to focus on me and my feelings. Thoughts, fears, happiness - everyone should take care of themselves like this, a yoga retreat for your own health & well being." Karen

"Thankyou Claire. A treat to be on this retreat again!" Sheryl
